What is Marriage Therapy?

Marriage therapy, or couples therapy, is a specialized form of mental health treatment that helps couples navigate relationship challenges.

At Anytime Anywhere Therapy (AAT), licensed therapists conduct online therapy sessions lasting about 50-90 minutes via video or phone in a safe, private environment. Our therapists ensure a balanced space for both partners to express their feelings, without taking sides.

This approach focuses on relationship counseling, conflict resolution, rebuilding trust, and managing stressors. Whether facing specific issues or seeking to strengthen your bond, marriage therapy offers valuable support and insight.

How to Get Ready for Online Relationship Therapy?

Here are some helpful tips to ensure you and your partner are well-prepared for your couples therapy session:

  1. Choose a Quiet Space: Find a private, comfortable area where you both won’t be interrupted. This helps create a calm environment that allows you to focus on your session.

  2. Use Headphones: Wearing headphones can improve sound quality and minimize background noise, allowing for clearer communication with your therapist.

  3. Prepare Your Device: Whether you’re using a laptop, tablet, or smartphone, ensure your device is fully charged and has a stable internet connection. Test your audio and video settings beforehand to avoid technical issues during the session.

  4. Gather Any Materials: If you have specific topics or questions you want to discuss, jot them down before your session. Bringing any necessary materials, like a notebook or journal, can help you take notes and stay organized.

  5. Be Mindful of Timing: Log in a few minutes early to settle in and ensure everything is working properly. This allows you to start your session feeling relaxed and ready.

  6. Dress Comfortably: Wear clothing that makes you both feel at ease. While you’re in a virtual setting, being comfortable can help you engage more fully in the conversation.

  7. Stay Open and Honest: Approach your session with an open mind. The more honest and open you are with your therapist and each other, the more effective your marriage therapy can be.
