Coping with Family Changes: Life changes such as a move, divorce, or the arrival of a new sibling can be overwhelming for children. Therapy supports kids in adjusting to these transitions, helping them make sense of their experiences and adapt healthily.
Eco-Therapeutic Approaches: Many therapists incorporate eco-therapeutic techniques, which highlight the benefits of the natural environment on mental health. Spending time outdoors is encouraged as it can have a positive impact on children’s emotional well-being.
Anxiety and Fears: Therapy helps children experiencing anxiety about school, friendships, or other life events. It provides a safe space for children to understand their fears, develop coping mechanisms, and feel more secure.

How Children Online Therapy Sessions Work?
Children online therapy is designed to be flexible and adaptive, depending on the child’s age, specific needs, and family dynamics. Here's what you can expect:
Parent and Child Participation: Depending on the child’s age, therapy may include parent-child joint sessions. For younger children, therapists often work closely with parents to guide them on effective ways to support their child’s emotional growth. This collaborative approach ensures that parents are equipped with tools to continue supporting their child outside of therapy.
Parent-Only Sessions: At times, the therapist may conduct parent-only sessions, especially for younger children, or if there is a need to discuss parenting strategies, family dynamics, or how best to address a child’s challenges at home. These sessions provide parents with insights into their child’s behavior and effective methods to foster positive change.
Individual Child Sessions: For older children or adolescents, therapy might involve individual sessions where the child works directly with the therapist. This allows the child to speak openly in a safe, supportive environment, which is crucial for addressing personal concerns, emotions, and challenges. The therapist uses age-appropriate techniques, such as storytelling, play therapy activities, or creative exercises, to help children express themselves.
Interactive and Age-Appropriate Techniques: Online children therapy can include creative, interactive methods to keep children engaged and comfortable. Therapists might use activities like drawing, storytelling, or games to help the child express emotions and process experiences. These methods make therapy more relatable and enjoyable, encouraging children to open up in their own way.
Flexible Setting: Online therapy allows children to participate from the comfort of their own homes, reducing anxiety and creating a familiar environment. Sessions are conducted using secure video platforms, ensuring both privacy and convenience. This setting is particularly helpful for children who may feel overwhelmed by new places or struggle with traditional office settings.
Parent Check-ins and Guidance: Regular check-ins with parents are also a key part of children’s therapy. These help to review progress, discuss any concerns, and adjust the treatment plan as needed. Parents are often given suggestions for activities and techniques that can be continued at home to reinforce what the child is learning in therapy.
Children online therapy is a collaborative and adaptable process, designed to meet each child where they are, while involving parents actively to ensure the best possible outcome for the child and family.

Yes, we do.
All of our therapists are registered with recognized regulatory bodies, such as the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario), which are recognized by insurance companies. Our receipts include the therapist's registration number, which you can use to receive reimbursement from your insurer. However, not all insurance benefit programs cover therapy expenses. We recommend contacting your insurance provider prior to your session to confirm if services provided by a registered psychotherapist are covered and eligible for reimbursement.
After your session, you'll receive a receipt with all the necessary details to submit to your insurer. If you're not reimbursed, keep your receipts, as therapy expenses can be claimed as medical expenses for tax deductions when filing your personal income taxes.
