Treatment Approach

In my practice, I prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and challenges without judgment. My treatment approach is integrative, combining elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Attachment-Based Therapy to address the unique needs of each client. I focus on helping you develop insight into your behaviors and thoughts, empowering you with the tools to make positive changes.

  • A widely used therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors, helping clients develop healthier thinking and coping strategies.

  • Originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder, DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices to help clients manage emotions and improve interpersonal effectiveness.

  • focuses on the development and dynamics of your relationships, helping you understand patterns formed in early life and their impact on your interpersonal interactions as an adult. This therapy approach explores how attachment styles secured, insecure, or disorganized affect relationships, self-image, and emotional well-being. It is particularly effective for those experiencing relationship issues, anxiety, or trauma rooted in childhood experiences. Through this therapy, I aim to help you build healthier, more secure attachments and enhance your capacity to form trusting relationships.

  • is a therapeutic technique that teaches you to stay present and reduce stress through mindfulness practices. Originally developed for stress management, MBSR has proven effective in treating various psychological conditions, including anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders. In this therapy, I guide you through mindfulness exercises such as meditation, body awareness, and yoga, helping you cultivate a greater awareness of the present moment. The goal is to empower you to manage stress more effectively and improve your overall mental health and quality of life.

Christmas

When I'm not in the therapy environment, I cherish my time spent in nature, whether it's hiking through the local trails or kayaking on the serene waters of Tiny, Ontario. These activities not only rejuvenate my spirit but also deepen my connection with the environment, which is a source of inspiration in my practice.

Music and dance are a big part of my life. I am an avid Zumba dancer. Zumba allows me to connect with others in my community and from around the world. Beyond nature and Zumba, I spend free time connecting with family, raising my daughter, meditating and reading books about mindfulness and inner peace. Continually exploring books across various genres, which enrich my understanding of human behavior and emotions. Additionally, I enjoy attending programs offered by the Metis Nation of Ontario and local Friendship Centre's.

These hobbies not only provide me with relaxation and joy but also enhance my therapeutic approach by keeping me grounded and connected to everyday life.
