Treatment Approach
I employ a dynamic range of evidence-based therapies, tailoring my approach to the unique needs of each client.
My toolkit includes taking a Person-Centered approach, in addition to Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), The Gottman Method, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
-
A widely used therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors, helping clients develop healthier thinking and coping strategies.
-
Originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder, DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices to help clients manage emotions and improve interpersonal effectiveness.
-
Relational-Cultural Therapy emphasizes the importance of relationships and connections in human development and healing. It focuses on fostering empathy, mutuality, and growth through authentic relationships, helping clients address issues related to isolation, disconnection, and relational dynamics.
-
The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on enhancing relationship quality and stability. It incorporates tools for improving communication, resolving conflict, and building emotional intimacy, based on the principles developed by Dr. John Gottman.
-
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy combines cognitive behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices. It aims to help individuals become more aware of their thoughts and feelings, reducing the risk of relapse in depression and promoting emotional regulation and self-compassion.
-
Trauma-Informed Therapy is an approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and emphasizes safety, trustworthiness, and empowerment in the therapeutic relationship. It aims to provide clients with a supportive environment to process their experiences and develop coping strategies.
-
Internal Family Systems is a therapeutic model that views the mind as composed of different "parts," each with its own perspectives and roles. IFS helps clients understand and integrate these parts to achieve emotional healing, self-compassion, and internal harmony.
-
Emotion-Focused Therapy is centered on identifying and processing emotions as a means to facilitate healing and personal growth. It encourages clients to explore their emotional experiences, helping them develop a deeper understanding of their feelings and improve their relationships.
-
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is a goal-oriented approach that emphasizes finding solutions rather than focusing on problems. It helps clients identify their strengths and resources, facilitating quick, actionable steps toward achieving their desired outcomes.
-
Strengths-Based Therapy focuses on identifying and leveraging clients' inherent strengths and resources to promote resilience and positive change. This approach empowers individuals to build on their capabilities and develop a more positive outlook on their lives.

Outside The Therapy Session
Beyond my professional endeavors, I value the importance of self-care and cherish moments of leisure. I enjoy spending time with my cat (Cleo) and dog (Athena), going on hikes, traveling, playing volleyball, attending hot yoga and spin classes, taking a deep dive into Netflix, and exploring new restaurants!
I appreciate you taking the time to view my profile and should you decide to take the leap into therapy, I look forward to meeting with you!
